Life Update + Something New in the Works

Hi friends!

I felt like it was time to give a little update on life and share something new I’m working on!

If you’re following along on social media and the blog, you’ll see that Matt and I (and the kids), have been doing quite a bit of traveling. Truth be told, I’m ready to get back home and settled for a hot minute. We are currently on the road back to Utah, from Orange County California. The drive is about 10-11 hours, dare I say we are “pros” at this drive. But seriously though… we have been making this drive for the last 11 years consistently, at least once or twice a month, so we know the drill (where to stop, what time to leave to avoid traffic, and how to keep kids entertained and happy LOL).

SIDE NOTE: who wants a guide to traveling 10+ hours with kids, Road Trip edition??!!

Back to life updates … we’ll be home for good, until October when we leave again for a fun adventure we haven’t done yet, and with the kids!! - more on that as our plans develop! We have a camping trip with friends, two weekends from now, in Bear Lake. We’ve never been and hear it’s gorgeous, so we are pumped! Also, we haven’t camped once this season which is NOT like us, so this will be our big “hoo-raw” trip!

School is around the corner for us and we’ve made a decision that helps us step into the next round of homeschooling, and slightly less of a load for me, than years prior. I’m hoping and praying the kids enjoy and thrive in this next step. I’m certainly looking forward to some free time to write more and work on other endeavors close to my heart. While the kids will not be part of a co-op or attending a private Christian school, they will be learning in a classroom style setting at a learning facility that allows for homeschool kids, athletes and students wanting extra assistance or an accelerated program, tailor their learning to what works best for them. I’m so excited for this step! We are also hoping to plan some family travels around what they’re learning in history, science and art. Also VERY excited about this!

Truth be told, we’re still figuring so many things out as we go and simply trusting the Lord to the make the way forward clear with each step.

Did you get a chance to read my post:

“Making Difficult Decisions”

If you haven’t already, I suggest giving it a read as it might bring some encouragement to everyday life decisions.

As the summer starts to come to a close (even though it’s currently 91 degrees as we drive through Provo Utah!), we are looking forward to the pace and colors of fall, our daughter Makenas 10th birthday, and this new season of growth and change. Please be in prayer for our youngest son Shae, he will undergo adenoid and tonsil surgery August 6th. While it’s a simple procedure, we still believe in the power of prayer to make even the simplest of things a better experience. (Thank you!!).

Lasty, I’m in the midst of creating a way to share my 5 Steps to Cultivating a Relaxing Vacation Atmosphere, in Your Home - GET EXCITED!!! Who doesn’t want this? Am I right? It’s a culmination of what I’ve learned from my own personal travel experiences, lessons learned at home, and a deep desire to always make home a space to dream, rest and create beautiful non-chaotic memories, can I get an Amen!!

Well friends, what is going on in your slice of the world? What are things you are praying about or waiting on? I’d really love to hear. Put them in the comments below if your comfortable with that, or send me a message privately. Either way, I’d be so happy to hear from you!

Until next time, stay inspired and keep exploring!

With Love,

Summer
